What we do

AI automation for manufacturing.

We help factories eliminate paper, manual data entry, and disconnected systems, replacing them with intelligent workflows that learn directly from the floor.

Our software connects machines, ERPs, and people in real time, turning tribal knowledge, production, and quality data into systems that run smoother, faster, and smarter.

Backed by the founders of HubSpot, Typeform, Apollo, Hustle Fund, Brickyard, and more.

Our mission

We are here to reindustrialize America.

That means bringing world-class technology back to the factory floor, empowering operators, restoring pride in American manufacturing, and helping people do their best work again.

We believe great companies are built by great people, together, in person. We train together, eat together, and build products that move the needle for real industries and real people.

About the role

Applied AI, grounded in the floor.

As an AI Researcher, you will push the boundaries of what AI can do on a factory floor. You will build agents that reason, cite, and act on real operational data across production, quality, scheduling, paperwork, systems, and machine signals.

This is not research for demos or abstract benchmarks. Your work needs to hold up under real production load, in messy environments, with real operators, supervisors, and plant managers relying on it. You will spend time on-site with customers, learn how factories actually run, and build applied AI systems that are grounded in operational reality.

Success in this role means shipping automations that are accurate, useful, trusted, and durable enough to become part of how a plant actually operates.

Do not apply if you
  • Want to work on AI demos instead of production systems.
  • Are unwilling to spend time in factories and close to the problem.
  • Do not care whether your models actually hold up in the real world.
  • Do not want to help reindustrialize America.
What you'll do

Build for the floor. Push the product.

Build applied AI for the floor.

  • Design and build agents that can search, reason over, and act on real operational data from factories.
  • Develop AI systems that work across paperwork, ERP, MES, QMS, SOPs, machine data, and human workflows.
  • Build automations that can surface answers, recommend actions, trigger workflows, and support decisions in real time.
  • Focus on systems that are useful in production, not just impressive in a demo.

Work close to real environments.

  • Spend time on-site with customers to understand how plants actually run and where AI can create real value.
  • Observe operators, supervisors, planners, and leadership to understand how decisions are made and where workflows break down.
  • Use real-world feedback to improve the quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of the systems you build.
  • Travel as needed to stay close to deployments and the environments shaping the product.

Push the product forward.

  • Help define how reasoning, citation, retrieval, and action should work inside Harmony's platform.
  • Partner with engineering, product, and deployment teams to bring AI capabilities into live customer workflows.
  • Improve evaluation, reliability, and production readiness for AI systems operating in complex environments.
  • Turn field learnings into repeatable systems that can be reused across customers and plants.
What we're looking for

Applied instincts, production judgment.

  • Strong ability to build and ship applied AI systems, not just research prototypes.
  • Deep curiosity about how AI can interact with real operational environments.
  • Clear thinking around reasoning, retrieval, citation, and action in production systems.
  • Comfort working across ambiguity, messy data, and cross-functional product problems.
  • Excitement about manufacturing, industrial systems, and building close to the real world.
Preferred qualifications

What gets our attention.

  • Experience with applied AI, LLM systems, agents, or retrieval-based workflows in production.
  • Strong engineering ability alongside research instincts.
  • Experience designing evaluations, guardrails, and feedback loops for production AI systems.
  • Ability to balance ambition with practical judgment in live environments.
  • Willingness to travel and spend meaningful time on-site with customers.
Success metrics

How we measure the work.

  • Production reliability: AI systems hold up under real operational usage.
  • Usefulness: agents produce responses and actions that teams actually trust and use.
  • Operational impact: AI capabilities materially improve speed, visibility, and workflow execution.
  • Platform leverage: research becomes reusable product capability across multiple plants.
Culture & perks

What you get.

  • Hybrid full-time role with factory visits required.
  • Must spend meaningful time on-site with customers and travel as needed.
  • Weekly team dinners to build connection and community.
  • Gym, sauna, and cold plunge access, plus a personal trainer two times a week. HQ is in Chattanooga, TN.
  • Work directly with the founders every day with full ownership.
  • High-trust, high-intensity environment built on craft, speed, and impact.
