What we do

AI automation for manufacturing.

We help factories eliminate paper, manual data entry, and disconnected systems, replacing them with intelligent workflows that learn directly from the floor.

Our software connects machines, ERPs, and people in real time, turning tribal knowledge, production, and quality data into systems that run smoother, faster, and smarter.

Backed by the founders of HubSpot, Typeform, Apollo, Hustle Fund, Brickyard, and more.

Our mission

We are here to reindustrialize America.

That means bringing world-class technology back to the factory floor, empowering operators, restoring pride in American manufacturing, and helping people do their best work again.

We believe great companies are built by great people, together, in person. We train together, eat together, and build products that move the needle for real industries and real people.

About the role

Make automation practical on the floor.

As Head of Robotics, you will lead Harmony's robotics work and define how automation becomes practical on real factory floors. You will bridge software, hardware, and the physical environment to build systems that are safe, grounded, and useful in production.

This is a founding leadership role. You will own the roadmap, make key technical decisions, and build the robotics team from scratch. A major part of this role is figuring out creative, reliable ways to get data off the floor and into Harmony in real time, whether that means working with PLCs, installing edge devices, setting up counters, using vibration sensors, integrating cameras for AI vision, or connecting directly into existing machines and systems. In many cases, the job is not just robotics in the traditional sense; it is solving the broader problem of how to instrument factories, capture the right signals, and connect physical operations into one live operational layer.

Success in this role means building robotics and floor-connected infrastructure that create real leverage for manufacturers, hold up in live operating environments, and become a core part of Harmony's long-term platform.

Do not apply if you
  • Want to work on robotics far away from real-world deployment.
  • Are unwilling to travel heavily and spend time on customer sites.
  • Prefer research projects over practical systems that must actually work.
  • Do not want to help reindustrialize America.
What you'll do

Lead robotics. Get data off the floor.

Lead the robotics function.

  • Own Harmony's robotics strategy, roadmap, and technical direction from the ground up.
  • Define where robotics, sensors, edge devices, computer vision, and machine-connected automation can create real value inside factory environments.
  • Make practical decisions across software, hardware, controls, perception, deployment, and safety.
  • Build the team, set the standards, and establish how Harmony approaches robotics and floor-connected infrastructure as a company.

Get data off the floor.

  • Work directly with machines, PLCs, sensors, cameras, counters, vibration sensors, and industrial systems to capture live operational data.
  • Install hardware and edge devices on customer sites to pull the right signals from the floor in creative and reliable ways.
  • Explore and deploy AI vision and other non-traditional approaches when they are the best path to getting useful data from a factory environment.
  • Build the bridge between physical equipment and Harmony's software platform so factories can be connected in real time.

Build real systems for real floors.

  • Design and deploy robotic and machine-connected systems that integrate with plant workflows, operators, and existing equipment.
  • Bridge physical automation with Harmony's platform so robotics can work alongside AI, workflows, machine signals, and operational data.
  • Focus on systems that are safe, reliable, and useful in real production environments.
  • Work across multiple customer sites to make sure systems hold up across different plants, layouts, legacy equipment, and workflows.

Work close to the customer.

  • Spend significant time on-site with customers to observe workflows, constraints, layouts, equipment, and safety realities firsthand.
  • Partner with plant leaders, operators, engineers, and internal teams to identify where robotics, hardware, or vision systems can remove friction and create leverage.
  • Translate messy real-world conditions into practical deployment plans.
  • Make sure every decision is grounded in the realities of the floor, not assumptions from a lab.

Build for the long term.

  • Create repeatable architectures and deployment patterns that can scale across customer sites.
  • Help define how robotics, hardware, computer vision, and machine integrations fit into Harmony's broader operating system for manufacturing.
  • Build systems that are not just impressive, but maintainable, supportable, and tied to operational outcomes.
  • Turn early deployments into a durable robotics and floor-connectivity capability inside the company.
What we're looking for

Leadership, and range.

  • Strong technical leadership across robotics, automation, machine integration, sensors, or physical systems.
  • Ability to bridge software, hardware, industrial controls, and real operational environments.
  • Clear judgment on safety, deployment risk, and practical system design.
  • Excitement about building from zero and owning a new function end to end.
  • Willingness to spend substantial time in factories and close to the problem.
Preferred qualifications

What gets our attention.

  • Experience leading robotics, automation, controls, industrial hardware, or field systems in real production environments.
  • Strong background in PLCs, sensors, cameras, edge devices, machine integration, industrial networking, or field deployment.
  • Experience installing hardware and finding practical ways to get data out of machines and factory processes.
  • Familiarity with AI vision, signal collection, or physical-world sensing systems.
  • Bonus: strong software engineering skills and proficiency writing production code across backend systems, integrations, and internal tooling.
  • Ability to manage multidisciplinary work across software, hardware, and operations.
Success metrics

How we measure the work.

  • Deployment success: hardware, machine integrations, and robotics systems are safely deployed in real customer environments.
  • Operational impact: better floor data and automation create measurable value on the plant floor.
  • System reliability: robotics and floor-connected systems hold up under real production conditions.
  • Team building: a strong robotics function is built with clear technical direction and standards.
Culture & perks

What you get.

  • Full-time deployed role with significant travel to customer sites across the country.
  • Weekly team dinners to build connection and community.
  • Gym, sauna, and cold plunge access, plus a personal trainer two times a week. HQ is in Chattanooga, TN.
  • Work directly with the founders every day with full ownership.
  • High-trust, high-intensity environment built on craft, speed, and impact.
