How this is scored

Each answer scores 0 to 4 and is multiplied by the question's weight. The Phase 1 foundation questions carry the heaviest weight, because the data foundation is the real gate. The weights add up to 25, so the top possible score is 100.

There are four bands. Pre-foundation is 0 to 24, Foundation started is 25 to 49, Production scale is 50 to 74, and AI-native is 75 to 100. Most high-production plants we walk into score in the bottom two.

One rule sits on top of the arithmetic, and it is the whole point of the assessment. Four questions decide whether a data foundation exists at all: how much is still on paper, whether the plant runs on one person's spreadsheet, whether machine data leaves the PLC, and whether your systems talk to each other. If those four come back low, the band is held down to what they support, no matter what the total says. A plant can score well on maintenance posture and back-office habits and still have nothing for AI to read. The band follows the foundation, not the average, and when the rule moves your band the result says so on screen.

The two arcs behind the questions

The digital transformation. Clipboards, Excel, ERP and other software, and the PLCs and machines themselves. Digitize, connect, unify. What comes out the other side is one live data layer covering every record, every system and every machine. Harmony builds that on-site, in person, with forward-deployed engineers.

The AI transformation. The live data layer is the foundation, and on top of it sit AI search that answers with sources cited, AI agents that propose while a person approves, AI production scheduling where the plan proposes and the planner approves, and back-office AI automations across finance, sales, procurement and logistics.

The order is not a preference. The second arc has nothing to stand on without the first one.

What Harmony does about it

The published pilot is $15-20K one time over 4-6 weeks, with engineers living in your plant and working software by the end of the pilot. Harmony is software and hardware agnostic and connects at the PLC over OPC UA, on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron and Mitsubishi. Common questions

Do I have to give an email address to see my result?

You see your band for free the moment you finish the twelve questions. Your exact score out of 100, the phase you are in, your weakest ground, and your next three moves unlock with a work email. Business email only, no spam.

Can a plant do AI before digitizing its records?

No. A record written by hand does not exist to any system until a person re-types it, so there is nothing for a model, an agent or a scheduler to read. Any vendor selling AI agents into a paper plant is selling a demo that cannot run there.

What if I score in the bottom band?

Then AI agents are premature and the data foundation comes first. That is the most fixable position on this list, because the work is known and unglamorous rather than experimental. The three actions shown with your result are useful whether or not you ever talk to us.

Why is my band lower than my score suggests?

Because the four foundation questions came back low. Points earned on scheduling habits, maintenance posture or back-office work do not add up to a data layer, and averaging them in would tell you that you are further along than you are. If the records are on paper and the machines are quiet, the band says pre-foundation whatever the total is.

Are my answers stored anywhere?

They stay in your own browser while you take it. Nothing reaches us unless you enter your work email and ask for the breakdown.
