Harmony AI
MANUFACTURING · PACKAGING & PRINTING · CORRUGATED & BOXES

AI Automation for Corrugated & Boxes.

Harmony digitizes wet-end logs and waste tallies, streams the corrugator live, optimizes trim with AI, and feeds actuals back to estimating. One AI-native operating system over everything: your floor, your machines, and the software you already run. No rip-and-replace.

THE PROCESS

First a digital transformation. Then an AI transformation.

AI USE CASES

Twelve ways the AI layer earns its keep.

PAPERSTATION TABLETLIVECAPTURED ONCE · SAME SHIFT
U1

Paperwork Digitization

Use case 01 · PEN, PAPER & EXCEL

Problem. Wet-end logs, waste tallies, job tickets, and downtime notebooks, filled in by hand at the machine and keyed into Excel a day later.

Harmony AI Solution. Captured once at the machine on tablets. AI flags out-of-range entries the moment they are written, and every number lands next to the run it belongs to.

ANY PLCLIVEONE SCREENSTREAMED IN REAL TIME
U2

Live Machine Data

Use case 02 · LIVE MACHINE DATA

Problem. Line speed lives on the corrugator HMI, counts live on the folder-gluer display, and waste lives on a clipboard. Nobody sees them side by side.

Harmony AI Solution. Direct PLC connections stream speeds, counts, and waste from the corrugator and every converting line in real time, any brand, via OPC UA or whatever the machine speaks.

U3

In-Line Quality Intelligence

Use case 03 · IN-LINE QUALITY

Problem. Warp, glue bond, and print defects surface at converting or at the customer. The corrugator ran that board an hour ago, so a full shift of orders can carry the same flaw.

Harmony AI Solution. Every defect captured as the job runs, with grade, flute, machine, and hour attached.

U4

AI Search Across All Data

Use case 04 · AI SEARCH

Problem. "Which orders ran that roll lot?" or "What did the corrugator record before the warp spike?" means a walk to the wet end, a call to the office, and an Excel export.

Harmony AI Solution. Answered in seconds with the source shown, across the ERP, run data, job tickets, and inboxes. Idle floor TVs become live AI line boards.

THE PLAN PROPOSESPLANNER APPROVESCONSTRAINTS MODELED, NEVER GUESSED
U5

AI Production Scheduling

Use case 05 · AI SCHEDULING

Problem. Jobs sequenced across the corrugator and the converting lines by hand every morning: due dates, trim, setups, and hot orders juggled on an Excel job board.

Harmony AI Solution. AI production scheduling sequences jobs against due dates and trim and proposes the plan. The scheduler stays in charge and approves.

MATERIAL INLOSSLIVE, BY LOTA BAD LOT SHOWS IN AN HOUR
U6

Yield Optimization

Use case 06 · TRIM + WASTE

Problem. Trim is set when the order is planned and never revisited. Waste is tallied on paper after the shift, so a bad week is discovered at month end.

Harmony AI Solution. Trim tracked live by order. AI proposes combined runs that cut side trim, and waste shows by machine, grade, and hour while the shift can still act on it.

STATIONREPAIRRFID TAGLAST KNOWN LOCATION · GENEALOGY
U7

RFID + Serial Genealogy

Use case 07 · ROLL GENEALOGY

Problem. A bad roll lot surfaces as warp two days later, and tracing which orders ran it means digging through corrugator logs and job tickets by hand.

Harmony AI Solution. Mill roll to corrugator run to order, one-up and one-back. One question returns every order a roll lot touched, and every roll behind a suspect order.

TRUE OEE, LIVEPLC FEED
U8

Oee + Downtime

Use case 08 · OEE + DOWNTIME

Problem. Downtime lives in notebooks as "mechanical" or "waiting." The same failure repeats for months because nobody can see it is the same failure.

Harmony AI Solution. Causes coded at the machine in seconds. ML clusters the drivers across machines and shifts, so the biggest repeat offender sits on one screen.

U9

AI Workflow Automation

Use case 09 · ESTIMATING VS ACTUALS

Problem. Estimating quotes from standards nobody has checked in years. The jobs that lose money look identical to the jobs that make it.

Harmony AI Solution. Every job's actual speed, waste, and time fed back to estimating automatically. The next quote starts from what the plant really did, not what the standard says.

Inventory + Shortage Intelligence

Use case 10 · INVENTORY

Problem. Roll stock counts drift, ink runs out mid-shift, and a missing die is discovered at setup. Cycle counts eat weekends.

Harmony AI Solution. An AI-maintained true-stock layer for roll stock, ink, and dies.

MILLFINISHREPAIRLAST KNOWN LOCATION, ON THE FLOOR PLAN
U11

Die + Tooling

Use case 11 · DIE + TOOLING

Problem. Dies live on racks, in corners, and in memory. Setup crews walk the plant to find the right die, and a missing die is found missing at the machine.

Harmony AI Solution. Every die and tooling set tracked to a location with its condition and last run. Scanned in and out, so the die is staged before the job arrives.

Back-Office AI Automations

Use case 12 · FULL-SCOPE AI AGENTS · FINANCE, SALES, PROCUREMENT, LOGISTICS

Problem. CSRs dig through the ERP to answer order status calls, invoicing waits on paperwork, and supervisors rebuild the same morning reports in Excel.

Harmony AI Solution. Full-scope AI agents run the workflows across financial, sales, procurement, and logistics: deductions and AR worked automatically, POs parsed from the inbox, and reports written before the morning meeting.

Scope. Financials, sales, procurement, and logistics automations, in the same platform.

THE PATTERN WE SEE

The problems we see on every corrugated & boxes floor, and why they happen.

Disconnected systems, disconnected data

Amtech or Kiwiplan runs the schedule, a homegrown ERP holds the orders, Ignition watches a few machines, and the job board lives in Excel.

Floor data is written by hand, so it arrives a shift late

Wet-end logs, waste tallies, job tickets, and downtime notebooks are filled in at the machine and keyed into Excel a day later.

Defects are found at converting, so the corrugator makes more

Warp and bad glue bond surface when the blank hits the die cutter or the folder-gluer.

Estimates never see actuals, so quotes stay wrong

Every job's real speed, waste, and setup time stays on paper tickets.

The back office runs on manual work

POs are typed in from emails, invoices keyed into the ERP, deductions and AR worked from spreadsheets, and reports built by hand before the morning meeting.

THE PILOT

$15–20K. 4–6 weeks. One painful problem.

We pick one specific pain point, send engineers to live in your factory for 4–6 weeks, and solve it. One-time payment, working software by week 3, and no obligation to go further. If you do, you choose the modules that you like.

QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
Do you replace Amtech or Kiwiplan?

Additive by default. The AI layer sits on top of what you already run, and when a system deserves to be replaced, we replace it. Sometimes we're the layer on top of your MES. Sometimes we are the MES. Where the schedule lives in Excel, the platform becomes the floor's system of record: machine capture, live line boards, quality, genealogy, and scheduling on one AI-native layer.

Can you get live data off a BHS corrugator and Bobst converting lines?

Yes. Direct PLC and sensor connections, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi, or any other brand, via OPC UA or whatever the machine speaks. Speeds, counts, and waste streamed into the AI layer in real time. Software and hardware agnostic.

Our warp problem starts at the wet end. Can the AI actually catch it?

Defects are captured at converting as jobs run, with grade, flute, machine, and hour attached. ML finds the pattern within minutes and signals the wet end before the next runs carry the same flaw. The corrugator crew sees the signal on their own screen, same shift.

How does the AI get our data?

Read-only connections, scheduled exports, or on-prem. Security is reviewed together in scoping. Read-only pilots: every agent proposes, a person approves.

Do you work remotely?

No. We always start a pilot in person and on-site, with forward-deployed engineers on your floor. Very rarely do we do anything remotely.

What does it cost after the pilot?

A per-plant annual platform: unlimited seats, no user fees, hardware at cost. The pilot itself is $15-20K over 4-6 weeks against one painful problem, with working software by week 3.

Harmony AI puts the corrugator, the converting floor, and the office on one live layer, so warp gets caught at the wet end instead of the die cutter.
